Bitter End
I wrote this story for a project. I hope you like it.
Bitter End:
Nadjwa was in love with Farid. She met Farid in university, but they were only friends then. After finding much in common between them, they started dating. They talked on a daily basis and at any time. He was the first person she talks to after waking up and the last before she sleeps. The more they talked, the more she loved him.
Before becoming a couple, he used to tell her everything about himself. He had told her that his previous girlfriend, whom he was planning to marry, cheated on him and turned his life upside down. For a while, he despised girls so much, that he could not bear seeing his own mother and sister. He said that he could never have imagined that he will start another relationship again until she came. They stayed together for a few years, and he told her that he wanted her to be his wife. She was overcome with happiness and accepted to wait for him until he finished his studies.
One time he asked her to do the prohibited with him since they were like a married couple, but she refused him immediately and stopped talking to him. When he got hold of her, he begged her to forgive him because he was drunk and did not realize what he was saying. After much scolding, she forgave him if he never asked her that again and quit drinking.
After weeks passed, she forgot the incident and stopped being weary around him. When her birthday arrived, he picked her up telling her that he had a surprise for her. She had no idea where he was taking her, and he refused to tell her. She assumed that they were going to a restaurant, but was surprised that they stopped next to a house. He told her that he had prepared a special lunch for them and led her inside. She was not sure about entering a house with him alone but decided to trust him.
Upon entering, he hit her on her head and she fainted immediately. The next moment she awoke, she found Farid on top of her and many men surrounding her. She tried to push him off her and run, but there were too many men against her. She pushed and scratched like a wild animal but to no avail. She kissed Farid’s legs asking him not to stain her honour, but he smirked and said, “Your honour has already been stained.”
She was shocked to hear him say that. The man that she loved and trusted practically ended her life. She wished that she had not trusted him, that she had not met him, but what good would regret do.
After a whole night of torture, Farid dragged Nedjwa to his car and drove her back to her campus, then threw some money to her and left without a word. She dragged herself to her room and closed the house on herself. Her tears had dried after the amount that she shed, and all she could feel was emptiness. She was as good as dead.
Two days later, Farid sent her a message telling her to go with him again, but she refused and blocked his number. She did not go to study for a while, but her friend dragged her so that she was not excluded.
On her way to the classroom, she noticed that many looked at her strangely and some were even laughing. When she tried talking to a classmate of hers, he ignored her. After classes, she went to talk to him, but he kept on ignoring her then asked her, “Don’t talk to me. I don’t want anyone one to see me around you.”
She begged him to tell her what was wrong then he pulled out his phone and showed a video of her getting tortured in Farid’s house. In shock, she dropped his phone and ran out of the building hearing people laugh at her. What was she to do with herself then that everyone saw her in that state? What will she do?
She went out of university and walked for a while watching the cars hurry past her. A tear dropped from her eye and she threw herself in front of a speeding truck, ending her life.
