Inspirational horror
Ramadan is banging on the doors, and that reminded me a funny story that happened to me in the previous Ramadan. I wish a happy and blessed Ramadan for all of you :)
And for those who have the BAC like me, i hope you all succeed, don't be afraid because fear alone can make you fail, and take your time, don't rush, choose the subject that you feel like you can get more points with, and don't stay up at night, sleep early so you can handle the pressure and won't be sleepy in the morning.. :)
I was sitting there, in front of the computer screen, minding my own business. There was no connexion because of some technical problems, so I began writing my novel which I started just for fun.
That day was the second day of Ramadan, way after dinner time. I checked where I stopped at the day before in one of the chapters, read it a couple of times and let the words slowly flow.
Suddenly, I heard a petrifying sound. A sound so scary that I immediately leaped to the thought of it being that one thing, and that one thing only. Oh, but I won't tell you what it is now.
I turned around to check if there was, by any chance, flying objects. I didn't see anything suspicious so I returned to my original position and resumed typing, and that hitting sound came back.
I checked again and got the same result, nothing out of place, so I turned back to the screen and the sound came back!
The sound was of something falling on the carpet over and over again. I then, remembered experiencing a similar situation before during which I heard the same horrifying sound.
During that situation, I encountered a huge flying insect!
Alright, alright, it wasn't 'huge', it was just my jumbled mind playing tricks on me. If you fear something no matter how small and harmless it is, it always seems rather big and monstrous.
I am one of those girls who can stand face to face with a huge bear, or a lion, a dinosaur even and could keep it together, however if you put me in the same room with a small, ugly and scary looking insect that keeps heading in my direction because it thinks i'm a wall, and wants to hide behind it because it's scared of me and not because it wants to eat me alive or rip me to pieces like the other three would do, i would be so scared i'd scream my soul out!
This time however, when I turned to check and found nothing I didn't turn back, I scanned the room very carefully searching for any kind of movement, and there it was. A small black ugly thing with wings slowly moving on the carpet.
The carpet had many colored spots and that thing was lying on a dark spot, that was why i couldn't see it earlier. And what it was an insect of course.
Upon seeing it, I immediately stood and carefully marched my way out, keeping my eyes on it just in case.
It was black and shiny with wings. At first glance you'd think it was a huge fly, but if you take a closer look you'd know its true identity.
It seemed as if it was looking in my direction, I'd say it was getting its self ready to attack only in reality, it was busy trying to fly and didn't even notice my existence.
Nevertheless, I was shaking, and seeing it looking at me while moving like that made me feel goosebumps from head to toe.
When I finally made it out of the room, I was still nervous and I felt beads of sweat trickling down my forehead. The door actually was not as far as it seemed, it was only two steps away but it felt like a lifetime.
I entered another room where my mother and sister were watching TV. I tried to calm myself and play it cool, like I just came to take a look at the movie they were watching and go back. I'm nearly an adult why would I still be scared of insects, if I told them they'd have made fun of me.
The movie wasn't bad, it was about a man's son who was kidnapped and he kept looking for him. I stayed there for what appeared to be a few minutes and after that I gather what little courage I had and went back.
On my way, I grabbed a scarf and covered my head and my arms with it. It gave me this slight feeling of protection.
When I entered, I looked at where I last saw it and it wasn't there, it was nowhere to be found. I took the chance and opened the door which lead to the yard and sat back in front of the computer, opened a new folder and typed this story.
As I hurriedly typed it, I still felt endangered.
